Designing a branded look for a beauty business involves a great deal of consideration for your intended audience and its purpose. Is it for the middle class? Upper end? Is it Casual? Elegant?

 

Butterfly Consultation is a fictitious comprehensive makeover beauty service targeted at an upper end clientele who value a bit of art and class, so I created a tri-fold promotional brochure to reach this clientele.

 

The abstract multi-colored figure of a woman with a gold butterfly kissing the tip of her nose conveys the visual ethos of a woman going through a lovely transformation like a butterfly out of a cocoon.

 

This butterfly motif carried into a large watermark in the middle fold ties the entire piece together with consistent style and messaging. Elegant gold numbering further guides the user’s eye through the sequential stages of treatment with a feeling of luxury.

 

Determining the appropriate RGB colors in Adobe for the logo graphic to repeat unified touches of these colors in other parts of the brochure took practice—but I was lucky to find the multi-colored female image which makes the brochure explode with jeweled brilliance and ethos.
