TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR NON-CRITICAL TRANSPORTATION
"These striking visual cues enable the operator’s neuropsychology to quickly scan the procedural
steps with clean appeal, legibility, and simplicity."
When we think of medical transportation, we think of ambulances, but when medical transportation is needed to transport patients to nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, physical therapy, or doctor appointments, non-critical transport vans are used. Passengers include the disabled, the elderly, the low-income, and pregnant women.

Transport vans, outfitted with similar equipment to ambulances, are driven by operators who depend on well written instructional manuals to help them deliver fueled, stocked vans in good repair. Vulnerable people rely on them each shift and this is the mission.
As a fictitious technical writer for Tech Con business consultants, my three page inserts for a three-ring binder prepare the first shift operator with clear, colorful photo illustrations using red signaling arrows, Word icons, and borders on a yellow background for contrast. These striking visual cues enable the operator’s neuropsychology to quickly scan the procedural steps with clean appeal, legibility, and simplicity.
The cryptic, concise technical writing style demonstrates I can compose instructions in the command voice, and maintaining the operator’s attention is everything!
