Cherokee Village, Arkansas is a small resort town in rural Arkansas whose tourist website attracts visitors with boating, kayaking, fishing, golfing, and hunting opportunities along with various lodging amenities.

The city’s official government website shows all city departments, city council members, subdivision information, pet adoption outreach, tornedo warnings, and hunting regulations.  But is the site organized with the proper design, technology, and staff access to accomplish the needs of the community?

As a fictional content strategist and consultant to the city mayor, I conducted an in-depth analysis of the website’s content, its design, its users, its content management system, and its community problems to evaluate what recommendations should be made.

This field and online investigation, outlined in a memo and PowerPoint presentation prepared for the mayor, reveals a need for philosophical changes, new WordPress CMS technology, and greater flexibility towards keeping up with the times,
